ephemerals have announced their new album titled ‘egg tooth’ will be released 21.4.17 via Jalapeno Records. They have also revealed the first track – album opener ‘the beginning’ on Bandcamp and published a string of European tour dates for April/May 2017.
‘egg tooth’ is ephemerals most musically challenging work to date seeing the band bring in more jazz, psychedelic and afrobeat influences than previous albums. The expansive and emotive music is accompanied by some stunning album artwork provided by multi-award winning Portuguese photographer Tito Mouraz.
First track ‘the beginning’ is introduced by vocalist Wolfgang Valbrun meditating on rebirth over a contemplative chord sequence. As the song sporadically starts into life, erratic atonal horn leads fly over an ascending rhythmic pattern that really shows off the jazz funk influence in this album from the off.
