ephemerals have been awarded a grant by the International Showcase Fund, which is run by PRS for Music Foundation in partnership with UKT&I, Arts Council England, British Underground and the MU in association with PledgeMusic.
The funding will support their upcoming showcase performance at Reeperbahn 2016 in Hamburg.
Joining the company of previous grant winners Wolf Alice, The Fat White Family, Kate Tempest and Hidden Orchestra the ISF grant offers vital support for artists and bands based in England who have been invited to play an international showcasing festival or conference.
Taking inspirations from the greats such as James Brown, Syl Johnson and OV Wright and Charles Bradley they combine tight and grooving musical performances with heartfelt lyricism in a timeless sound. Fans of classic soul will immediately be drawn to ephemerals, who write honest songs and are unafraid to touch on difficult subject matter. Having released two full albums ‘nothin is easy’ and ‘chasin ghosts’ on Jalapeno Records, ephemerals are recording their third LP late this year for release in 2017.
